26th November 5-6pm, The Hackney Pirates

Join us for a workshop designed to create a restive state of mind and body through curated sound and movement.

You will move through a series of restorative yoga postures to gently stretch the body and bring you into a state of deep relaxation, while listening to a soulful ambient soundscape, improvised live. You will leave feeling rested, calm and mentally and physically nourished.

Restorative yoga was a technique developed by the late great Iyengar to allow everyone to access the benefits of yoga. Poses are gentle and the body is supported by props. Remaining in these poses for several minutes triggers the parasympathetic nervous system, giving your body respite from the stresses of modern day life.

Movement will be led by Rosie Slay.

The music will be provided by Sam Weatherald, using looped electric guitar, improvised live. Sam is a multi-instrumentalist musician, composer and participatory music facilitator, alongside his day job as community organiser for Sunday Assembly East End.

Tickets £15 or £12 concession rate (OAP/NUS/unwaged)
